Abbot Public Library will reopen in its interim space, Eveleth School, 3 Brook Road on Monday, Oct. 17. The library’s hours will be the same as they were at Pleasant Street:

  • Monday: 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Tuesday: 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Thursday: Noon-6 p.m.
  • Friday: 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

Repurposing the classrooms and gym space at the school, the interim space includes more than 40 percent of the library’s collections, rooms dedicated to reference and technical support, children, and teens, as well as quiet reading areas and a room for public programs, which will resume in November. Browsing, book returns, and computers will be available after the library reopens.

“We accomplished a lot during the last five weeks and we are grateful to all of the people who contributed to the transformation of the Eveleth School into a gem of a library as we moved thousands of books, shelving, furniture, computers, and art to the space. We are so happy to welcome everyone back to the library,” said Kimberly Grad, director of Abbot Public Library.

Renovations at 235 Pleasant St. are scheduled to begin in December, with a projected completion date of spring 2024. For updates on the renovations, visit abbotlibrary.org/news/renovation-news.
