On Friday, you may have received in your mailbox a print newspaper bearing a name similar to ours.
In an attempt to resolve the understandable confusion of having two outlets with similar names covering Marblehead, we thought we would offer some helpful ways you can distinguish between the two.

- Look for the “cod” logo. If you see it, that’s us! If you don’t, it’s not.
- Look at the bylines. Marblehead News was founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is produced by trusted journalists with a long history covering Marblehead, including Will Dowd, Kris Olson and Leigh Blander. Behind the scenes are two other co-founders with deep ties to the community, Ed Bell and Jessica Barnett. We have also had the benefit of contributions from other Marbleheaders who have been on the scene a long time, like columnist Brenda Kelley Kim and sailing correspondent Laurie Fullerton. And we would welcome adding more local voices to our ranks. Have an idea of a column you would like to write or a feature you would like to pursue? Let us know at info@marbleheadnews.org.
To a large degree, this confusion will be temporary. When our print edition launches later this year, it will be easier to distinguish the work of one outlet from the other.
In the meantime, we hope this helps resolve any confusion.
